Speedrunners are the guys who make us all look bad. They have refined skills, dedication, and modest levels of fame. They even raise a lot of money for charity. This year's Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ) event alone raised $1.295 million for Doctors Without Borders. While the generosity is absolutely the best part of speedrunners and their events, this article is about the fastest Super Mario Bros. 3 run in history. It wasn't 20 minutes. It wasn't even 20 seconds. It was 2 seconds. Two! Given, that was with the help of tool assisted software, but that is impressive nonetheless.

Looks like tons of fun.

This was supposedly accomplished by pressing buttons at a rate of around 6,000 times each second. The glitch was discovered by ais523. He then explained the method behind the glitch, but it was pretty much a fancy way of saying, "it breaks the game." Now, 2 seconds doesn't exactly make for exciting gameplay, but it gets the job done pretty fast.
