Evidence continues to pile up, all pointing toward the idea of Sunset Overdrive coming to PC through Steam.
The open world game released years ago as a launch exclusive for the Xbox One. But recent findings indicate that the game will be coming to personal computers as well. It started when people found an ESRB rating for the game, classified under Windows PC. The listing accurately describes the game setting, paying special note to the various rating-related concepts like violence and drug/sexual language.
Now evidence has appeared indicating that the game will even be part of the Steam marketplace. A SteamDB listing shows a hidden Steam app that features the Sunset Overdrive logo and image art. Because the app is marked as hidden, its name or details are not available, but the image is as clear as day. The database history indicates that this particular app has been modified and worked on regularly over the last several months, implying that this is more than a false listing by unofficial sources.
Sunset Overdrive is a third person shooter game developed by Insomniac Games (Ratchet and Clank, Spiderman 2018) for the Xbox One in 2014. The player takes the role of a FizzCo, fighting off "Overcharge Drinkers," people mutated after drinking too many energy drinks. The game features fast-paced gameplay through an open world, colorful environments, and an overall punk-rockish style.
On Xbox One, the game has an overall positive reception by critics and consumers alike, scoring between 8 and 9 from most sources. A PC port of the game has been long requested. While such as thing has yet to be formally announced, it's looking more solid than not at this point.
Sunset Overdrive is available now on the Microsoft store for Xbox One. More information can be found on the official website.
