Street Fighter has been one of the top fighting games for 30 years. In fact, several titles in the series have a few iterations within themselves! Originally, this was so they could patch in balancing issues and new characters to a game back before updating them online was a thing. This caused a running joke about Capcom making far too many versions of one game. For example, Street Fighter II had seven different iterations (Editor's Note: Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting is my favorite).
Why do I tell you this? Because now there is Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition!
Announced earlier today in a video trailer, Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is coming out on January 16, 2018, and will host a number of changes while retaining everything that was added to the original Street Fighter V.
This new version will contain an in-demand Arcade Mode as well as a new Extra Battle Mode. To pack in more fun, Capcom has given all 28 fighters a second V trigger to add variety to your fights. The non-gameplay related changes include a new UI, gallery, and more.
If you already own a copy of the original Street Fighter V, then do not fret. All gameplay content that they've added to Arcade Edition will be implemented into the original game via an online patch.
