Everyone knows Stellaris. You know. That space game everyone couldn't shut up about a few weeks back. Well, the ever-impressive Paradox Interactive has been digging deep in the space trenches for us. And now, they've tumbled out with something new: the "Asimov" update. The new additions, available now, bring new elements to the space table.
It's not robot butlers.
The "Asimov" update brings a new level of diplomacy to the table, adding more opportunities to strategy. These changes touch on borders, options, and entirely new functions. Players can now freely slip behind an empire's borders (unless action is taken). And keeping a solid relationship is a bit trickier now, as embassies are out. Instead, players will need to complete trustworthy actions to keep everyone happy. That's going to be difficult, though, as the entire diplomacy interface has been overhauled to add new actions and options, and even incidents. The changes don't stop at diplomacy, either. Constructing an outpost, or even colonizing a planet now takes influence. There are now fresh nomadic fleets. Some of the changes are more subtle, however. Such as the new map views and the improved graphics during battles. I'm not sure what the future will hold for Stellaris, but it's clear that Paradox is taking the game's upkeep very serious.
