Ubisoft's adrenaline junkie, extreme sports game Steep is going free to play this weekend. Steep is a multiplayer open world extreme sports game developed and published by Ubisoft. While the game has been generally well received, it lacked in the sales department. Whether it's because of the price versus quantity of content, or just the lack of interest in winter sports games, Steep definitely had a lackluster launch.
Attempting to give players a chance to play a game before actually buying into it is a great way to potentially bring in new players and expand the current community. Steep will be free to play from March 13th, until March 14th, as well as being discounted during this time period. During this free weekend, the standard edition will be available for %50 off, while the gold edition will be %40 off, unless you purchase Steep on the Ubisoft store, in which case both editions are half off.
While it's not a very long trial period, it's definitely enough time to get an opinion on the game. Get together with some friends, and either snowboard, ski or skydive into the stunning world of Steep. On top of having access to the full game, players will have access to the recent Alaskan update as well.
Here are the dates for the free weekend for all platforms:
Xbox One: 3/10 at 12:01 a.m. PT to 3/13 at 11:59 p.m. PT
PS4: 3/10 at 10 a.m. PT to 3/13 at 10 a.m. PT
Uplay (PC): 3/10 at 10 a.m. PT to 3/13 at 10 a.m. PT
