A few months ago, we reported on Steam putting various lewd games on a sort of "probation" while they reassess them. This included well-known visual novels and arcade games, such as Hunie Pop. Steam didn't take action, in the end. They stated that anything not illegal or trolling would be allowed in the store, though it won't be without moderation. Various potentially lewd games have been delayed from publication on the platform until Steam can implement a content moderation system.

Love in Space, the developer of anime strategy game Sunrider, recently posted on Twitter, saying that their upcoming title Shining Song Starnova is currently delayed from release until Steam works out a content filtering setting necessary for the game's content.

"We've now been updated by Valve in regards to Shining Song Starnova, the summary is that they are working on new features to give people more control over the content they see and SSS has been identified as needing these features in place before it can go live on Steam.

Unfortunately we've not been able to get a timeline on this but well continue to keep you all informed once we have new information as well as any other decisions we make in the meantime."

Publisher Sekai Project has confirmed the delay and stated that they have other titles also waiting for submission. The publisher is exploring alternative platforms for release, claiming they have been waiting for over two months.
