Thanks VAC.

There are very few things that are worse than cheaters when it comes to online video games. Stream snipers come close, but cheaters are arguably the biggest threat to gaming communities. Thanks to Steam, and VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat), you need not fear.

The madness from the Steam Summer Sale is over, but surprisingly, VAC detected and exterminated a whopping 40,000 cheaters the day of the sale's conclusion. On July 6th, 40,446 VAC bans were dished out, as well as just over 5,000 game bans thanks to player reports. Compared to the 2.5 - 4k average daily bans, you can say that this was a major message to all would-be cheaters in the future.

Take this as a lesson kids. Cheaters never prosper. They may win battles, but honourable players (and VAC) win the war.
