Starfield, the highly anticipated sci-fi RPG by Bethesda Game Studios, finally got some time in a spotlight during this years E3. And while it brought some pleasant news with it, there wasnt much else to be excited about.
The trailer kicked off the Xbox Bethesda E3 showcase on Sunday. In it, we see a man in a space suit step into a spacecraft of some sort and prepare it for lift off. The spaceship is on a barren planet with a facility in the distance. As they prepare for launch, the console indicates the games official release date.
This is the first piece of media about the game weve seen since its initial reveal a few years ago. And while we want to be exciting, theres not much to be excited for.
The trailer took place in a very nondescript location, devoid of culture. We have no idea what the universe of Starfield is like. We have no idea what kind of people to expect, places to see, or societies to encounter. And with no gameplay presented, we dont know how it will feel in-game. Everything weve seen so far has been too vague or generic to latch on to.
But we got a release date, at least. Starfield will release on November 11, 2022 for PC and Xbox Series X/S. As an added bonus, it will also be available on day 1 for Xbox GamePass subscribers. Given this timeline, we 100% believe that well see a more in-depth look, such as a gameplay showcase, in next years E3.
