"Today is the 2 year anniversary of Stardew Valley. I've got that strange sensation of both the shortest and longest 2 years of my life. Thanks for joining me on this journey everyone. With MP close, my next (secret) game in the works, and more... there's lots to look forward to"
Stardew Valley was a massive success. The top-down simulation game drops the player into a peaceful village after inheriting their grandfather's farm. Players can grow crops, raise animals, mine for ore, and even start a family. What started out as a passion project from a developer under the alias ConcernedApe quickly became a revitalization to the genre is paid homage to.
The game still has an average 9,000 players daily on Steam. It established ConcernedApe's ability to create a casual, happy gaming experience. So when he announces a previously unheard-of project, our ears perk up.
Unfortunately, the only thing we know about this project is that it exists. Considering the time it takes for games to be developed, we shouldn't expect to hear much of anything about this anytime soon. I wouldn't mind a cute and casual fishing game.
