by It looks like Blizzard is taking a giant leap forward with Internet gaming (possibly an innovative attempt to thwart piracy) while slapping all of those who play RTS at lans and at home lans with their friends across the face. While I had never played the original, I was actually thinking about purchasing Starcraft 2. With this news, that puts me on the fence. Below is a snippet of what they had to say regarding the axing of any lan feature;
"we don't have any plans to support LAN," he said and clarified "we will not support it." The only multiplayer available will be on Battle.net.
It also appears as if there is now a petition online to persuade Bilzzard to put a lan feature back in. Currently there are just over 6,000 signatures; https://www.petitiononline.com/LANSC2/petition.html.
