In a continued wave of bringing classic games onto modern platforms, another 2000s era Star Wars game appears to be readying for release. Star Wars: Republic Commando has appeared within the Nintendo Switch eShops data.
The information comes from NWPlayer123, a notable Switch eShop data miner. They discovered information about the game on the servers in a ready for release state. This includes imagery and descriptions. The listed developer is Aspyr, which is the same studio that made the Switch port of previous classic start wars games.
Star Wars: Republic Commando originally released in 2005 for PC and the original Xbox. At the time, it was very well received by critics for being an engaging action shooter set in a lore rich universe. It will be the fourth classic Star Wars game from that era to be revived on the Switch, the previous 3 being Episode 1 Racer, Jedi Knight 1, and Jedi Knight 2.
Keep in mind: This information being found on the eShop data servers does mean that it is most likely releasing on the console. There remains a chance that the release will be cancelled last minute. Even if it isn't, theres no certainty as to when it will be released. Until an official announcement is made, well just have to wait and see. If we had to guess, itll cost between $10 and $20, since thats what the other re-releases cost.
