Star Wars Battlefront II, the highly anticipated sequel to the disappointing turnout of 2015's Star Wars Battlefront by DICE and EA games, is having an open Beta for this weekend only!
The 2015 Star Wars Battlefront had high hopes that fell flat due to little content and excessive DLC. Fans feared that the same issue would arise in Star Wars Battlefront II, though there's promise of redemption. Announced to have fully fleshed out campaigns, MANY more characters in the Star Wars universe, and far more maps available in multiplayer, a number of fans believe this iteration in the Star Wars Battlefront series will be a saving grace.
You can get a taste of that saving grace this weekend! Whether you play on PC, Xbox One, or PS4, the open Beta of the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront II will be available to download and play for no cost. This opportunity will only last the weekend, however. Come Monday, you will neither be able to play on the servers, nor download the Beta, and instead, will be stuck waiting for the official release on November 17. Those who preordered the game will have a two-day head start on the release, however.
The beta won't be a fair representation of the amount of content in the main game but merely a taste. You can download the beta yourself via your console market or via Origin if you happen to be a PC user. May the force be with you.
