Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy had this to say on the subject to Slashfilm:
"Our attitude [to Star Wars 1313] is, we don't want to throw any of that stuff away. It's gold. And it's something we're spending a lot of time looking at, pouring through, discussing, and we may very well develop those things further. We definitely want to,"
So, that’s super cool, right? Well… maybe not. Remember, post-purchase, LucasArts now has an exclusivity deal with EA, which means that if Star Wars 1313 is published, EA will be the company doing the publishing, and their record with Star Wars games is… dicey. And they’ve only really released one.
Second of all, just because they’re looking at the assets, doesn’t mean they’re going to be making Star Wars 1313. They could be eyeballing it for a separate, individual project, or use those assets in future games and/or movies. We already know that they plan on having ‘side movies’ in addition to the new movies in the canon, so… it could wind up in that bin.
Probably preferable to letting EA ruin another Star Wars game, I’d say.
