Wow, did not see this one coming.

Here's something neat that should prick the ears of Star Ocean fans. Though we have Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness hovering over the horizon (i.e. next year) with its older characters, Infinite Undiscovery-based battle system, and different types of events, Square Enix and tri-Ace have decided to shower us with a bit more Star Ocean-related news.

Announced during a streaming event at Tokyo Game Show 2015, Star Ocean: The Second Story will be returning once more to both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. To clarify, this version was a port of the PSP title, not a remake or a PS One Classic. Unsurprisingly, the game will be supporting cross-buy.

With an interesting story, fun characters, two character stories, and a branching system (with some strange endings, might I add), this game shouldn't be passed up. However, if you're looking for a release date, it hasn't been announced yet, but according to Producer Shuichi Kobayashi, it won't take long.
