People really like digital spaceships.

At this point, Im less convinced that Star Citizen is so much a game as much as it is a digital lobby for the extraordinarily wealthy to get into dick-measuring contests because it was just announced that the ambitious space-faring game had raised a grand total of 300 million dollars now, meaning it continues to speed along as one the most expensive games ever made and the most expensive crowd-funding title ever made.

Seriously, how this game raises so much money is beyond me. Their last threshold, 250 million, was crossed back in December of last year after they raised 11 million dollars in 31 days, but then things slowed down for a few months, and they only got a few million. However, back in May, they got a huge push when they released a special bundle of 14 ships, which you could grab for the (I assume) discounted price of $4,600 a pop.

So youd be stupid not to grab that, I guess.

Look, I cant pretend to know the first thing about Star Citizen or why it manages to continue raking in such enormous sums of cash, but I have to assume theres something there for people to spend millions of dollars on it routinely.
