The unpleasant graphics and uncomfortable UI were amplified by the higher resolution of a computer monitor. People hated it. Square Enix addressed people's complaints about a month ago and how they've returned to announce their plans for resolution. The company released a statement on Steam Tuesday morning:
"We have been working on addressing the issues that you've raised, and will be releasing a number of patches over the coming months as we continue to support Chrono Trigger on Steam.
. . .
We'll post a full list of changes here when the first patch is released. For now, be assured that we're working very hard on adjusting, updating and supporting Chrono Trigger on Steam."
The first patch is expected in the first half of April. It will include the option to switch between the current graphics and the original Chrono Trigger graphics.
The word of support is reassuring. Especially when it's in regards to a beloved classic like Chrono Trigger. Whether they keep true to this reassurance is another thing.
