We all have favorite Marvel games. For a lot of us, it's in the Marvel vs. Capcom variety. For others, it might be the fantastic Spiderman 2. Regardless, we've all felt a void when it comes to Marvel games today. The good news is that all of this is expected to change drastically. Earlier today, Marvel announced an exciting partnership with Square Enix. Square now has a contract to make several Marvel games over the next few years. To start off the partnership, Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal are making a game called The Avengers Project.
Right now, that vague trailer is pretty much all we have to go on. However, the game is promised to be completely original. Of course, more details will start to come out as the game nears completion. In the meantime, there's sure to be mountains of speculation on exactly what to expect from The Avengers Project. Regardless, this move is great news to gamers and Marvel fans alike. The comic franchise has been focused on mobile gaming lately, so it's refreshing to see them look back to console and PC gaming. With the Square Enix name behind them, the games are sure to be large titles with lots of production value. That doesn't guarantee they'll be any good, but a man can dream.
