Square Enix Releases Eidolon Infographic on FF Explorers

With two of them completely new to the series, mind you.

Final Fantasy Explorers is just a little over a month away, and Square Enix has decided to tease those interested with an eidolon infographic, of which you can check out below.

You'll notice that most of the eidolons are familiar, but two are new to the FF series: Dryad and Amaterasu. Dryad's attacks focus on inflicting multiple status ailments (so I am assuming Dryad could be the ruler of the malboros?) and Amaterasu appears rather enigmatic, and the seven magical swords jutting out from its body don't help.

A little bit of a recap:

Final Fantasy Explorers is an upcoming action-RPG that pits adventurers against these 12 eidolons, either solo or with three additional players. After the defeat of each eidolon, adventurers will be able to summon them in future battles in the midst of Trance Mode (hey, FFIX reference right there), where the adventurers can transform into legendary characters from the FF series.

What's neat to look forward to is the end-game, where players will be able to take on tougher versions of eidolons that feature different designs.

And the story?

Well... the world, being greedy as it is, is on the verge of war over the remaining crystal reserves. Players must set out as Explorers on an island stuffed with crystals, taking down enemy after enemy in an effort to seek out the Grand Crystal.

Final Fantasy Explorers will release January 26, 2016 for $39.99 on the Nintendo 3DS. There is a limited Collector's Edition available for $69.99 on the Square Enix Online Store.
