In fact, the port has retained its touch controls from the mobile release, and no one can disable them in the PC version.
Well, there has been an outcry over the situation. And this time, Square Enix has listened - even though we may see a repeat of the PC port of NieR Automata all over again. Anyway, the publisher has addressed the negative reviews just a couple of days post-release. According to the publisher via the Chrono Trigger official Steam page:
"We wanted to let you know that we are reading and listening to your messages and are aware of all of the issues that you've raised, which we are currently assessing. Please keep an eye on the Steam page for further information."
So yes, Square Enix will hopefully fix this mess. When? We are unsure, but hopefully soon. However, we are certain that we will report any updates on the matter whenever we hear about it.
