It may be a bit past the age of the MAD comic, Spy vs Spy, but the tradition of secret agent duels is still well alive with the official launch of Spy Party, the tense competitive spy game set at a high society party.

Spy Party is the passion project of Chris Hecker, with the help of John Cimino and Keith Millot. This asynchronous two-player game has one person taking the role of the spy. Their job is to covertly perform a number of spy-like activities, such as bugging the ambassador, seducing the target, and contacting your double agent. The other player has the role of the sniper. Their job is to, from a neighboring rooftop view, identify who the spy is, and assassinate them before they can complete their tasks.

Having been primarily developed by one person, development has been rather slow. About eight years, to be precise. The project started back in 2010. Previously available as Early Access, the game has now formally launched, and can be found on Steam for $24.99.

I've watched a fair bit of gameplay, and its fun just to watch. So grab a friend, open a drink, and enjoy shooting each other.
