We all remember our first experience with the move "Splash" in Pokemon. Maybe you made the mistake of buying that Magikarp from the swindling fisherman. Maybe you caught one yourself and were thrilled to see a new (at that moment) water Pokemon. Regardless, the end result was always the same. Magikarp has one move: Splash. And it does nothing. No damage. No effect. Nothing. Until now with Pokemon Sun and Moon.
Go Magikarp! Go!
Thanks to the addition of Z-moves in Pokemon Sun and Moon, Splash finally has a purpose. By equipping the appropriate crystal, Pokemon can perform the Z-Splash. And while the game still says that nothing happened, something definitely does. Z-Splash boosts the attack of the user three times. Finally, being a fisherman pays off.
Unfortunately, this new change doesn't make Magikarp any better. It still can't learn anything else to make use of Z-Splash. But hey, it's better than nothing.
