Spike Chunsoft Joins tri-Ace and Recruits Valkyrie Profile Writer for Upcoming JRPG

Spike Chunsoft, known for Zero Escape, Danganronpa, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, and Conception, has recently teased a secret RPG. It has since been confirmed that the company has teamed up with Star Ocean developer tri-Ace and recruited the Love Plus character designer Mino Taro. tri-Ace President Masaki Norimoto, knowing for his writing in the classic Valkyrie Profile and the not-so-classic Resonance of Fate, is also lending a hand in the project as writer; and on the music end of the spectrum, Motoi Sakuraba, known for basically every tri-Ace and almost every "Tales" game, has been selected to be part of this elite team.

Here's what is known about the new RPG: it will feature an old-school "side-view" battle system, reminiscent of the classic Final Fantasy games. So perhaps this JRPG may harken back to the olden days of JRPGs.

Next week is when the curtains will be lifted on this mystery game in the issue of Famitsu. Undoubtedly, it will be awesome. The words teased, after all, are thus:
