When the Ninja stream took place, we saw as many as 635,000 concurrent viewers at a given time. When El Rubius, the biggest Spanish speaking YouTube content creators of all time, organized a game of himself and 99 other popular personalities to a private game of Fortnite, the live stream broke over 1 million viewers.
The YouTube head of gaming content, Ryan Fwiz Wyatt, reacted to the stream on Twitter, believing it to be a new record of some kind.
"Crazy... @Rubiu5 hit over 1 million concurrent viewers on a single stream playing Fortnite. That has to be a record for the most concurrent viewers for a single gaming stream!"
Fortnite: Battle Royale has truly made its mark on the gaming world. The free-to-play game by Epic Games has made its way to PC, consoles, and even mobile devices. Its fame had led to the point of being a problem in public schools.
