South Korea's Presidential Election is Weird to Say the Least

South Korea gets it. Good television that is.

Just last week, I covered a story in which one of South Korea's presidential candidates, Sim Sang-jung, starred in a promotional video where she was racking up eliminations, debate style, in an Overwatch play-of-the-game format. As weird as it was at the time, the South Korean presidential election has gotten even stranger.

The South Korean presidential election was covered in a rather strange, but pretty awesome manner. The presidential candidates were depicted as characters in Game Of Thrones. They were riding horses, dueling, riding dragons and sailing the sea. Given the brutality of Game Of Thrones, I don't know whether it was a good idea to depict presidential candidates as characters from the show, but nonetheless, it's still entertaining.

Throughout the broadcast, candidates were also depicted as hip-hop artists, Pokemon Go players, K-Pop stars and more wacky things. I can't figure out whether South Korea is doing it wrong, or if the western world is. However unorthodox it may be, it's definitely way more entertaining than our elections.
