Sony has been going hard lately on their triple-A games. Titles like Detroit: Become Human, Marvel's Spider-Man, and God of War were all Game of the Year contenders. It would appear that the game giant intends to maintain this momentum into the future with the next chapter of cinematic storytelling.
Reported by Robert Workman, Sony appears to have a new wave of job listings on Greenhouse, all pointing toward a new, unannounced triple-A title with a narrative focus. The game is in development with "a major Sony development studio" believed to be their San Diego studio. And according to the character artist listings and the UI programmer listing, the game has a focus on storytelling.
The listings also make mention of past titles, such as Uncharted and The Last of Us. These games, while narrative, still had plenty of gameplay mechanics in them. So it's unlikely to be a story-only kind of game.
With a title of this degree looking for qualified employees now, there's a fair chance this will be developed for Sony's next console, the "PlayStation 5." The console isn't expected for another few years, at least. So it's safe to say the same for this supposed game. It'd be entirely unsurprising if it was a launch title, though.
If you could see a new game from Sony, what would you want?
