Talking Numbers

Sony Interactive Entertainment's head, Andrew House, has revealed just how many VR units have been sold. It's a grand total of 915,000 PlayStation VR headsets since February 19. That's just 8 days.

In fact, sales are currently doing better than the company originally expected, and House believes supply should catch up soon. In four months, Sony managed to sell nearly 1 million units, something they were expecting to accomplish in six months.

Bundle Details

To get over the hump, Sony has released a new PlayStation VR bundle. It includes a copy of Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, a fast-paced, arcade-style rollercoaster shooter. The bundle includes a headset, camera, two Move controllers, a PlayStation VR demo, and the game.

The bundle is available now at GameStop and EB Games for $499 USD.

VR Is Picking Up Steam

GDC 2016 was all about how VR was going to be the next best thing. Developers were excited about something again, and they were testing it out right in building lobbies. It didn't make sense to me at the time, as I wondered about the repercussions of such a thing, but there's no mistaking that VR is a major selling point.

They were right to be excited: the game lineup for 2017 looks strong, with games like Farpoint, Golem, and Psychonauts, just to name a few. Until Dawn: Rush of Blood has decent reviews as well, being called terrifying, and addicting. It received a 72 percent from Metacritic and a 7/10 from Digital Trends.
