So some cool news for you to digest:
Sony has recently sold over 500 million PlayStation systems (as in the original PlayStation all the way up to PlayStation 4), and to celebrate, the company is selling some translucent PlayStation 4 Pro consoles and accessories.
The translucent PlayStation 4 Pro is dark blue and includes a matching DualShock 4 wireless controller, a PlayStation Camera, Vertical Stand, and mono headset. The console, which is priced at $500, will launch on August 24. These units will be serialized with a copper plaque. Only 50,000 units will be produced.
As for the serialization, a select amount will be embedded with serial numbers that feature special dates in PlayStation's timeline. For instance, 09995 marks the US PlayStation launch (September 9, 1995) and 01115 marks the date of the US PlayStation 4 launch (November 15, 2013). However, if you cannot afford the bundle, then you should be happy to know that the controller will be on sale separately for $65. There is also a 500 Million Limited Edition Gold Wireless Headset, which is also dark blue translucent with copper detailing) for $100.
So yeah, good on PlayStation for selling that many PlayStation consoles. Here's to hoping the PlayStation 5 does extremely well.
