Sons of the Forest is a Sequel to the Popular Horror Survival Game

After you thought you were safe, it returns. Introducing Sons of the Forest, a sequel to the popular horror survival game by developer Endnight Games.

Announced during the 2019 Game Awards, Sons of the Forest brings the player back to the treacherous Peninsula of the first game, The Forest. The protagonist, who bears "fight demons" as a tattoo on their wrist, experiences a helicopter crash in the area. Now they and their partner, who is clad in police-like combat gear, must survive.



In the original The Forest, the player, who is searching for their son after experiencing a plane crash, has to survive the wilderness by hunting food, building shelter, and gathering resources. All the while, mutated cannibals roam the forest and its complex cave system. The player can fortify their home with traps and walls, or fight back with makeshift weapons.

The upcoming sequel implies a multiplayer aspect of some form. This is largely speculated from the existence of the other character in the trailer. Not that this means much, since the original game supported multiplayer already.

Nothing else is known about Sons of the Forest at this time. The reveal didn't indicate a release date, additional features, or even which platforms the game will be available on. More information will become available in due time.
