There's always that exciting time period after the release of a game where speedrunners attempt to put developers to shame and shock the world by completing them in astronomically fast amounts of time. Prey is a newly released first-person action adventure video game that normal players have been completing in about 13 hours. Platformer games such as Mario are very commonly speedrun, but a story-focused campaign game like Prey is the last game you would imagine competitive speedrunning to take place, but as I've slowly learned, if there's a game, somebody is speedrunning it.
A Youtuber by the name of DraQu has managed to severely exploit the game by clipping through walls and reaching seemingly inaccessible locations to finish the game in under 20 minutes. Thats right. Just 3 days after Prey's initial release, DraQu has managed to basically break the game and finish it in under 20 minutes. The video is pretty mindblowing, and it get's me thinking how long it took to figure out this route. However ridiculous and downright pointless it looks, you have to appreciate the dedication and effort. I just hope that he took the time to actually play through the game first. Let's just say this isn't the best way to enjoy the game.
Definitely, make sure to check out his speedrun below:
