SNK Apologizes For Being Too Horny

Calm down. It's just a picture, son.

Fighting Games as a whole tend to be pretty horny – from the jiggle physics of Dead or Alive and Soul Calibur to the long legs and tight leggings so common in Tekken and Street Fighter, you’d be hard-pressed to find a fighting game that doesn’t at least try to appeal to the male gaze (even Mortal Kombat, the least horny I can think of, appeals to it in its own weird way with the guest character roster and gratuitous violence). You’d also be hard-pressed to find a company who leaned so hard into their own horniness than SNK, but on Twitter over the weekend they took things a step too far when they started posting pictures of Samurai Shodown’s latest new fighter, Iroha, that were blatantly focused on her digital assets, if you know what I’m sayin’.

In fact, they were so focused on the ol’ T&A, they forewent any discussion or display of her actual gameplay style or mechanics. And when someone called them out on that, the Samurai Shodown account replied, "We all horny on main tonight."

That, everyone with common sense agreed, was a little inappropriate, and their official twitter account has since deleted the posts in question and offered up this apology:

A number of posts made by this account have been deemed inappropriate and offensive to members of our community. The admin in charge has been given a strict warning to be more considerate. The offending posts have now been deleted. Please accept our sincerest apologies.

Anyway, as you can probably imagine, this pissed off a whole bunch of dudes, who started throwing around insults and threats and generally acting like children who absolutely shouldn’t be old enough to play with their digital submissive sexy maids.

Maybe there’ll be more to say about this later. But probably not.
