It appears as if we finally have a release window for the SNES Classic pre-order claims. Today via Facebook, Nintendo has announced that the SNES Classic will go up for pre-order late this month in the U.S. through "various retailers." Furthermore, Nintendo has also reiterated that there will be plenty of systems to go around for the customers, both on launch day and heading into the end of 2017.
Hopefully, this means that there will be - in fact - many SNES Classic systems to snatch up, but scalpers, man. Scalpers. Anyway, here is the official announcement:
"We appreciate the incredible anticipation that exists for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, and can confirm that it will be made available for pre-order by various retailers late this month.
A significant amount of additional systems will be shipped to stores for launch day, and throughout the balance of the calendar year."
Hopefully, this makes some feel better about the whole Walmart mishap. Maybe not, but now we know when to wait, and hopefully everyone will be able to nab one. But knowing Nintendo...
Let's just hope.
