For those of you that are fans of the old Rare games like Banjo-Tooie and even more recent games like Yooka Laylee, there might be one more game you should check out. This game is called Snake Pass and it was developed by Sumo Digital. The game is fairly short and only costs around twenty bucks, but the gameplay is very fun and unique.
The main character is named Noodle and he is a snake who must slither his way through several different levels in search of gems. When you collect the gems, you gain access to the next level and so on. The thing that makes this unique is the physics engine. You need to climb up and down, push obstacles, and make your way through dangerous puzzles all while supporting your own weight. You need to curl Noodle around and tighten his grip in order to climb, much like a snake would have to do in the real world.
In addition to having full control of this snake, you also have a little bird pal who helps you out. By pressing a button, the bird will fly in and grab on to your tail. This will help support some of your weight in tricky situations and allows the player to move a bit more freely without fear of falling down. The only enemies in this game are the dangerous environments and gravity, so at least you can rest easy knowing that there are no boss battles waiting around the corner. For only $20, this game is an easy purchase and can be played on the PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
