"Skyrim Grandma" Shirley Curry to be Made Into an Elder Scrolls 6 NPC

Shirley Curry melted all of our hearts away when we first found her. Now the 82-year-old Skyrim let's player is being immortalized into the Elder Scrolls world as her own NPC character.

Curry recently visited the Bethesda headquarters, where she met game director and studio frontman Todd Howard. She also had her likeness replicated with photogrammetry technology for use as an NPC in the Elder Scrolls VI.

The meet-up was announced at PAX East by Bethesda themselves. It was part of an Elder Scrolls 25th Anniversary Panel, where they explained the 3D scanning process, how they intend to add Curry to the upcoming game, and her thoughts on the partnership.

This means a lot to me. Because I would be extremely happy to know that somebody else was playing with my character in a future Elder Scrolls game.

Curry confirmed her addition to The Elder Scrolls VI on Twitter, posting a video of her conversing with Howard.

Well, since they made the announcement today about me, as a character in the next TES game ...I can show my favorite thing I brought away with me!!!

Curry is one of the more popular Skyrim Letsplayers on YouTube. with over 400,000 subscribers, she has over 300 episodes dedicated to the game. Her soft demeanor and grandmotherly nature cultivated a wholesome and happy community of viewers, which she calls her "grandkids."

This idea didn't spring from nowhere. An online petition had begun to circulate last November. The petition called for Bethesda to add Curry as an NPC in Elder Scrolls VI. It started after Curry had commented on her excitement for the upcoming game but remarking on the possibility of it not happening due to her old age.

This puts a big smile on my face. Shirley is a wonderful lady and she's more than deserving of a tribute like this.
