Last month the Overwatch League announced we would be getting at least two more teams to root for next season. These teams hailed from Atlanta and Guangzhou. However, what we didn't expect is that six more teams are now official franchises and will be ready to jump into the fight come next season. Chengdu, Hangzhou, Paris, Toronto, Vancouver and Washington D.C. are all joining the Overwatch League stage. With these recent additions, the Overwatch League now has 20 teams strong in total, firmly placing itself on the top of the professional esports totem pole.

Although the official start of next season has yet to be announced, some of you looking for a team to root for might have one in your own backyard now. The league also mentioned building dedicated team arenas in their respective cities at some point in the future, but this is more of a goal than something officially coming in the near future.

More details on the team's official names, gear and logo will be announced in the upcoming months.
