Shinobi to be Converted into Film Produced by Marc Platt

I can tell that this could be a good movie.

Shinobi has been a wonderful classic on the Genesis, but no one knew that it would turn into a movie almost 29 years later. Sega has already announced Sonic the Hedgehog, so why not Shinobi?

Well, it is indeed happening, thanks to the production company of Stories International and producer Marc Platt. Platt will be teaming up production partner Adam Siegel and president and CEO of Stories International Tomoya Suzuki.

According to Platt:

"With Shinobi, we hope to make a film that honors the essence of the games and brings this fascinating world to life for moviegoing audiences."

Platt has been known for producing Legally Blonde, Into the Woods, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, so hopefully with that knowledge, we're in for a good time.

I should really replay the 3D classics version that I own on the 3DS though, just to recap before the release. It is quite good, though the controls feel a little archaic. There are newer Shinobi games out there however, in case that the older ones aren't your favorite.
