Persona 5 has been shrouded in mystery and uncertainty the moment Persona 4 came out. Coming many years after its predecessor, Persona 5 has been pushed back repeatedly in lieu of other Shin Megami Tensei games (especially for the handhelds). However, even with Persona 5 with a set release, these mobil Megaten games are still coming. This includes the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse
As indecipherable as expected.
Fans of SMT will immediately feel a resemblance to Nocturne. The plot involves a world-ending tragedy (thus, apocalypse), and the main character rises to challenge the carnage. Another similarity comes in party management, which consists of recruiting enemies to join you. Of course, you can also fuse your party members together to make stronger ones with shared skills. Combat seems to have gone back to its roots and exists in the first person. This is most likely to keep the game looking good without cramming two full parties onto the tiny screen. It has that surreal charm that comes standard with all Megaten titles. The word is that it will launch summer of 2016 for the 3DS.
