Shenmue 3 Delayed Until November to Ensure Quality

Unfortunate news comes to those excitedly waiting for the upcoming Japanese RPG, Shenmue 3. The game has been delayed by about three months.

According to an update posted on the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter by Yu Suzuki, the game will be delayed until November 19, 2019.

Today, Yu Suzuki & Deep Silver would like to give a message concerning the release date.

Shenmue III will now release on 19th November 2019.

Whilst almost ready, the game simply needs a little more refinement before being truly finished.

We feel that the extra time we have will help us deliver the true Shenmue experience players around the world deserve!

While waiting is never fun, the overall reception has been positive. The dedicated fans staying tuned to such announcements have more or less agreed that it's better to delay a game and ensure quality than to rush the game and sacrifice quality.

This does, however, place it into prime time video game release zone. November is right before Christmas, smack dab in the shopping and holiday season. Many major publishers will save their big money-makers for around them. This means Shenmue will have a lot of big games to compete for attention with.
