VR popularity is rising, and many companies in the entertainment industry are realizing its capabilities. The popular board-game Settlers of Catan is now being made into a Virtual Reality video game under the development of Experiment 7.
Responsible for the development of VR titles such as Magic Table Chess and Dungeon Chess, Experiment 7 is adapting Settlers of Catan for VR and will be releasing it for the holiday season. It will be launching simply as, Catan VR, and the developers say it will have both single player and multiplayer gameplay, although no footage has been shown thus far.
Virtual Reality has the capability to turn the most simple of games into immersive experiences, and Catan will definitely not be the last board game to make the transition into virtual reality.
