Senate Candidate under fire because she plays WOW
Well, here's some not so cool gaming political news of the day. Apparently a senate candidate from Maine has drawn fire from the opposing party because she plays World of Warcraft!
Colleen Lachowicz certainly is not the first political candidate to have some geeky interests, but she may be the first to have that information used as a way of dismissing her as a viable civil servant.
Unfortunately, in addition to being a level 85 Orc Assassination Rogue, Colleen also spends a lot of time talking with other progressives on message boards like the Daily Kos (a progressive, liberal website), which has resulted in someone creating a little website of their own. This one, called Colleen's World, is designed specifically to drudge up every single thing Colleen has ever said when communicating with other progressives, especially her fellow WoW guild members.
While this is obviously done by both political parties, it is sad that the act of playing video games has to be viewed as a negative. Although to achieve the level 85 status might imply that she plays a bit too much? What say you?
