I believe SEGA has become desperate and Game Freak has lost its marbles. I say this because today they have announced their upcoming game, TEMBO THE BADASS ELEPHANT.

What?

Really?

I wouldn't even know where to begin with this.

I can't even tell if this is amazing-sounding or terrible, but let's just dig into the details a bit.

First of all, it's a larger than life, 2D side-scrolling action adventure from the creators of Pokemon. Yes, Pokemon, so this is a sign that Game Freak has grown up a bit.

Secondly, the plot is as follows:

Shell City is plunged into a state of emergency after coming under attack from the devastating forces of PHANTOM, led by a mysterious masked commander. Terrifying war machines emblazoned with skulls tear through the city leaving a trail of destruction in their wake! As the National Army struggles to contain PHANTOM, General Krenman sees the mammoth (ha) task at hand and calls upon the only thing that stands between Shell City's obliteration and its salvation; the peanut chompin', villain stompin', PHANTOM romping BADASS Elephantidae... TEMBO THE BADASS ELEPHANT!

And the gameplay?

Well, TEMBO can jump, smash, punch, swing and BUTT STOMP hordes to death in order to save the city. TEMBO also comes complete with a featherbrained companion named Picolo. The game is composed of 17 levels, all designed comic-book style.

The game is set for a digital-only release in Summer 2015 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC.

Is it strange I want to purchase this for the title alone?
