The opportunity to taste the salty sea may have already passed you by, but fear not, scallywags. Sea of Thieves will be having a scale test this weekend.

The closed beta gave the developers a lot of valuable information about the game's technical abilities, and they've made a number of changes to hopefully improve stability. To test these changes, Sea of Thieves will be having a number of weekend-long scale tests. Anyone in the closed beta, as well as Xbox Insider members, will be able to participate for free.

The first test is taking place Friday, February 16 at 10 am GMT and will go until Sunday, February 18 at 10 am GMT.

Since this is for testing server stress, expect the same content from the closed beta, but with more technical issues. The developers will even be throttling the game at times to see how it behaves. Be prepared for login issues, instability, and issues with the shop. Fortunately, they also stated that there will be another beta before the game's formal launch that will contain new content.

I hope you have your sea legs and other pirate based phrases, I'll see you all on the high seas.
