Romeo and Juliet in space is such a bewildering concept, but it seems that it can work, as is evident in Verona, currently seeking support on Kickstarter. Currently in development by Prior Games--comprised of a veteran team who have worked for The Witcher 2, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Sine Mora, and more--Verona is aiming for PC success (and if possible, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One), if its Kickstarter is victorious. But what exactly is Verona? Well, as mentioned previously, this indie title is best described as the spawn of Firefly and Romeo and Juliet.

A third-person action-adventure set in a pre-apocalyptic Earth, which has been abandoned by the wealthy and privileged, Verona follows a team of 22nd-century treasure hunters who must extract and secure remains of the dying planet for transport to the wealthy residing in galactic colonies.

Similar to Romeo and Juliet, there will be two factions that will oppose one another--the Global Department, responsible for legally extracting artifacts from Earth and the home of Juliet, and the Extractors, the treasure hunters that Romeo is a member of. How these two lovebirds live or die will be entirely up to the player, so the narrative will be story-driven.

Spanning five episodes long and taking on an appearance that is somewhat reminiscent of Borderlands, this game will expose mature topics that aren't normally touched upon. So if this all sounds good to you and want to know more, you leap on over to the official Kickstarter page.

Hopefully, this game will succeed, but it may be a stretch, as the pledge goal is a hefty $350,000. Still, we wish Prior Games the best of luck!
