The long-awaited day has come. I've waited nine long months for the arrival of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II, and it is finally here.

Now, we can continue the adventures with Rean Schwartz and his posse on the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita in North America.

The even better news?

Players who have owned the previous title (really, you need to the play the first before you can consider picking up the second, but hey, the first game can be purchased at a discount for $19.99 currently on the PlayStation store) will receive bonus stats, items, and even additional dialogue options if their save data is intact. As the cherry on top, if you've spent time developing relationships in the original title, future story elements will change a little bit. How? Well, why don't you find out?

So, for those interested in a quickie sequel synopsis, Trails of Cold Steel II continues one month after the original... but honestly, I shouldn't spoil any more than that. But I can share with you that the Arcus system will return once more, but with a new Overdrive mode! Furthermore, expect new means of transportation across both land and sky, new allies, new dangers, and more!

And don't you worry about cross-save functionality, because that is back! Yay!

Anyway, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II, is available at retail and digitally on the PlayStation Store for $39.99. If you're curious about the original title, don't hesitate to read our review on The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel.
