Well, turns out that EA is hammering in that philosophy with the announcement the EA's Tetris app for both iOS and Android will be retired from their respective stores come April 21, 2020, but what really hurts is the fact that those who have purchased the legendary puzzle title won't be able to play it anymore.
So yeah, if you recently purchased it, you may as well get your $1.99 worth in.
The reason for all of this? Well, the rights to the Tetris mobile games have been transferred to N3TWORK, a company that's working on an up-and-coming Tetris title dubbed Tetris Royale.
According to the iOS store page for any of EA's mobile Tetris titles:
"Hello Fans,
We have had an amazing journey with you so far but sadly, it is time to say goodbye. As of April 21, 2020, EA's Tetris app will be retired, and will no longer be available to play. Kindly note that you will still be able to enjoy the game and use any existing in-game items until. April 21, 2020. We hope that you have gotten many hours of enjoyment out of this game and we appreciate your ongoing support. Thank you!"
Depressing? A little bit. But what can really be done about it?
