If you've logged on to play some Blizzard games recently, you probably noticed something a little different. Specifically, that familiar Battle.net name isn't as prominent. In fact, it's downright non-existent. That's no fluke, my friends. From this day forward, Battle.net is no more. Say hello to -umm- Blizzard. Wow, couldn't have picked a more imaginative name?
This actually shouldn't come as a surprise. Blizzard has officially stated in the past that they're looking to do away with the Battle.net name. It's difficult to pin down why, though. Veteran Blizzard gamers have grown up under that label. And it's not like fans have been trying to get Blizzard to change it over the years. Regardless, it's gone now. Goodbye, you nostalgic bastard.
