In a difficult world, people often look for a sanctuary. But sometimes, more drastic measures need to be taken. Sometimes, you need to make a sacrifice. Introducing Salt and Sacrifice, a squeal to the hit RPG Salt and Sanctuary.

The new game was revealed during the Summer Game Fest livestream on Thursday. The reveal trailer showcased both the general story, along with plenty of gameplay.

In Salt and Sacrifice, the player controls a criminal recently turned into a mage hunting inquisitor. They will be able to choose from a variety of combat classes, customize their appearance, and hunt down over 20 different mage-esque bosses. The original game as very closely compared to Dark Souls for its grim, medieval setting and hardcore, resurrection based gameplay.

Most notably, the game will also now support a more robust multiplayer experience. It will support drop in/drop out coop play, as well as a multiplayer faction system based around both cooperative play and PvP interactions.

Salt and Sacrifice will be releasing on PC, PS4, and PS5 some time in early 2022.
