Well anyway, there's a Twitter user, going by the profile Rubyvolution, who has supposedly leaked some more information regarding the Nintendo NX.
Alongside her claims, [url=[object Object]]she provided the following statement:
"Do not share my tweets and/or informations on the /r/nintendonx subreddit in any sort of form. Or forums.
End of this limitation: November."
That being said, we are a news outlet. So here's what can be discerned from the tweets, but for the love of anything, do take them with a boulder of salt:
- There will be a basic NX Bundle, which will include the normal storage of 128GB, HH/HC (handheld? hardware console?), no design limitations, and no accessories for a price of $/349.
- There will be a premium NX Bundle available, with faster storage (at 128GB), HH/HC, no design limitations, and accessories for a price of $/399.
- Furthermore and according to the tweets, AMD is involved, DMP is involved, there will be 2.5 Tflops of power, and it will feature a home unit and a mobile unit.
- There will be mainstream app integration for the HH, there will be an HH App focus and an HC game focus, and there are HC App limitations.
- About the games: there is a lineup of 21 games, including every third party. This includes TC:GRW, FH, LM3, AC: E, AC, Ports etc. (What in the world do the first initials stand for?)
- Additionally, there will be an enhanced Miiverse, an Enhanced eShop, no subscription-based models, and no region lockouts for games.
But this last piece of information is rather interesting. Like the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, the NX will undergo an upgradable cycle. Fans will be able to upgrade the NX, but it's completely optional and is limited. I won't be functional for the NX launch window, but the planned arrival will be late 2017.
To piggy-back off of this new, there are also "supplemental computing devices," which are supposedly in their early phase, is only functional with HC, and nothing is yet known about the editions.
So much information, but is any of this believable?
With NVIDIA's Tegra chip being rumored to be used, this news makes it hard to believe. Furthermore, upgradable? I find that hard to believe. That doesn't sound like a Nintendo thing to do, but maybe they want to fully compete with the other two bigwigs.
