[RUMOR] The Last of Us 2 To Be Delayed Until Early 2020

As excited as everyone is for the recent Death Stranding trailer and release date announcement, it brought some unfortunate news with it. Word is circulating that The Last of Us 2 will be delayed into 2020.

According to a tweet by Jason Schreier, news editor at Kotaku, The Last of Us 2 has been delayed, possibly into February of 2020.

Looks like Death Stranding is about to get announced for a November release. The Last of Us 2 was also planned for fall 2019 but I actually just heard it got bumped to early 2020, possibly February? Either way, wild final year for PS4

The Last of Us 2 is one of the most anticipated PlayStation releases of the current generation. Many gamers consider the original game to be one of the best they've ever played, and developers Naughty Dog appears to be working full force to ensure that expectations are met for the sequel. That mindset might very well be the motivation behind delaying the release.

Schreier didn't provide any further details regarding the delay. But with Kotaku having the high value towards breaking stories as they do, I'd doubt that he would make such claims without reasonable evidence.
