A sequel to a pretty bad game.

We thought the days of cartoon racing games were behind us. We were wrong. A recent leak on the Target website reveals Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix, a sequel to the 2018 racing game.

According to a tweet by trusted source Wario64, Target had a listing for the game, available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. This included cover art for the game case and a description, listing the following.

Includes 30 playable characters and 70 companion characters, including Jojo Siwa, Spongebob, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rugrats, Hey Arnold!, Ren & Stimpy, The Loud House, and more!

The Target listing has since been removed.

This comes as a surprise to many folks. While not a confirmation, early storefront listings are one of the most common ways a game is leaked. The original Nickelodeon Kart Racers received poor reviews from both critics and consumers, making it hard to imagine justification for a sequel.

Though to be fair, they seem to be making an effort to address some common complaints, like small roster size. Not all inclusions are the most popular with the video game community, however. Many are wondering why Jojo Siwa, the child dancer star of Dance Moms, would be added to the roster. But games like this aren't made for internet gamers, so it makes sense that they wouldn't agree with the decision. At the same time, they included Ren and Stimpy, an older cartoon more likely to appeal to this audience.

Keep in mind that anything other than an official confirmation is by no means 100% guaranteed. Sometimes announced video games even get cancelled. So this isnt a sure thing. If it is real, however, we only hope they do better than the last game.
