Everyone's heard of Red Dead Redemption. Or at least, any gamers back in 2010 have, given how critically acclaimed it was and how people wouldn't shut up about Rockstar's sandbox western phenomenon. For a few brief, glorious moments, Rockstar was known as "those Red Dead guys" rather than "those Grand Theft Auto" guys, and all was at peace in the world.

Strangely enough, however, despite its massive success, the game never really garnished the kind of breathless milking that most game publishers like to employ. It only had one, goofy DLC, and despite being six years old, there was no sequel either announced or, apparently, even planned. Given how busy Rockstar has been with GTA V, that makes sense, but it's still sad for people who are in the mood for some of that good ol' fashioned western flare.

Well, that hasn't changed. But a Korean gaming website has announced/leaked an upcoming HD remake of the cult classic, saying that this new and improved version would not only come with a graphical overhaul but would also bring the western adventure to PC gamers as well.

This rumor comes to us from Destructoid, who translated the article, and while it's completely unverifiable, it's certainly more than a little believable... especially since it was pulled from the Xbox One backwards compatibility list a while back. A baffling move which makes a lot more sense if you consider that they wanted to push an HD remake into the mix.

That said, this is all unsubstantiated rumor, and Rockstar has certainly remained tight-lipped so far. I'll keep ya'll posted as things change, so don't go buying cowboy hats and shouting "yeehaw" quite yet.
